On Saturday, July 20, 2019, Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu beamed with pride as he walked his daughter, Dr Njeri Ndungu, down the aisle at the Presbyterian Church of East Africa in Runda.

Dr Ndungu, a doctor, exchanged vows with her husband, Dr Nyotu Gitau, in a colourful invite-only wedding that drew top politicians and businessmen, including former First Lady Ngina Kenyatta and her son Muhoho Kenyatta.

The bride looked stunning in a white laced flowing gown, while the groom donned a dapper white tuxedo.

After the ceremony, the wedding reception was held at the Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club.

The wedding made headlines on Friday after it emerged that Governor Waititu had shortlisted his soon-to-be in-law for a top position in the county government, but the name was quickly removed from the list after the wedding invitation card went viral on social media.
