Starehe MP Charles Njagua, alias Jaguar, has found himself at the center of a social media controversy after sharing a photo that he claimed was taken in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
However, a closer look at the photo has led many to conclude that it was actually taken in Westlands, Kenya.
On Thursday, Jaguar posted a picture on social media that captured him leaning at a terrace of a high-rise building with an aerial view of the surrounding area.
He captioned the photo, 'Good Morning from Dar es Salaam.'
However, in an interview with the BBC's Dira programme, Jaguar claimed that he was indeed in Dodoma, Tanzania.
But Kenyans on Twitter were not convinced and quickly pointed out that the photo was likely taken in Westlands.
One Twitter user, Head Huncho, posted a picture taken from a similar spot in Westlands, which seemed to match the features in Jaguar's photo.
Head Huncho tweeted, 'Me at the same spot in Westlands... Lol.#JaguarChallenge pic.twitter.com/8XNfRLRQo6.'
Many others also pointed out that the photo was likely taken in Kenya, citing the presence of tall buildings and a different transport system.
One user, Waithira kim, tweeted, 'Lol first of all Dar doesnt have many tall buildings???? secondly transport system is different than ours?? watu wafanyange research before posting.'
It remains to be seen whether Jaguar's claims about his Tanzania trip are true or not.
