Security officers attached to West Pokot Governor John Lonyangapuo were withdrawn on Friday morning after he confronted officers at a road block on the Kapenguria-Lodwar highway and forcefully released a boda boda rider.
The rider had been arrested on Wednesday evening for flouting traffic rules. County commander Matthew Kuto confirmed the withdrawal of the governor’s security detail.
