Published on July 19, 2019, a disturbing incident occurred in Embu where a young woman was severely beaten by her 'sisters' for refusing to let them meet her brother.

The victim, who was reportedly wealthy but unmarried, had been receiving visits from her friends who were eager to meet her brother. However, she had been avoiding them, citing that her brother was busy with important work and did not have time for them.

According to eyewitnesses, the victim's friends became agitated and started insulting her, accusing her of being selfish and not willing to let her brother meet them. One of the friends was quoted as saying, "You have a problem, you're always disturbing your brother. We are respectable and it's good if you leave your brother to choose whoever he wants to meet. If you want your brother to marry, what kind of plan do you have with him or do you want him to marry you?"

The situation escalated, and the victim's friends started physically attacking her. She was eventually forced to flee her home, seeking refuge elsewhere.

It is reported that the victim's friends were motivated by jealousy, as they had heard rumors that her brother was planning to marry someone else. The incident has left the community in shock, and many are calling for justice to be served.
