Radio Citizen presenter Selly Kadot Amutabi is mourning the death of her grandfather Hassan Ali Omido, a former City Hall nominated Councillor.
On her Instagram page, Selly shared a heartfelt message saying, 'You fought well guga. You put up a good fight. It's hard to believe you are gone. Rest well with the angels, grandpa Hassan Ali Omido. We love you. We miss you!'
Omido was a businessman in Nairobi and served as a nominated Councillor from 2009 to 2014, when his term was extended by then Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi for a period of five years.
Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, accompanied by Makadara MP George Aladwa and Musalia Mudavadi, visited the family to offer condolences.
Omido's death comes at a time when Radio Citizen has undergone changes in its programming, with Selly Kadot Amutabi joining the show as a new co-host alongside Mzazi Willy M Tuva in May.
