On July 18, 2019, the offices of the Thirdway Alliance party in Nairobi were raided by six armed men, leaving party Secretary General Fredrick Okango nursing injuries.

According to party leader Ekuru Aukot, the attackers shot at Okango, who managed to hide inside one of the offices.

"Our party office Thirdway Kenya in Lavington, Chalbi drive has just been invaded by 6 armed men. They have shot at our Secretary General Fredrick Okango who ran and hid inside one of the offices," Aukot tweeted.

The motive behind the attack is unknown, and the police have yet to confirm the incident.

However, the attack came just hours after the party received a major breakthrough in their push for a referendum to change the Constitution. The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) had confirmed that the party had met all the requirements for a referendum, and the draft bill would be forwarded to all 47 county assemblies for consideration within the next three months.
