On a typical day in Kibera, Geoffrey Lugaye can be found snacking on cockroaches, a protein-rich food source that he claims boosts his immunity to diseases.

According to Lugaye, who was interviewed by NTV, he prefers eating cockroaches because they are very delicious compared to other options.

“Nazikaranga hata saa zengine nakula kamoja moja hivi,” Lugaye said, which translates to 'I eat them even at odd hours, one by one.'

Lugaye claims that cockroaches are a nutritious food source, and he even shared a secret recipe for his favorite cockroach dish.

“I tried the boiled option but I did not like it, I like them fried. Unaweka mafuta kidogo ukiweka mingi bado itamezwa yote, unaweka ndimu kidogo inasaidia digestion. Mende na ugali iko sawa sana,” Lugaye explained.

His unique diet has sparked a mix of reactions from Kenyans online, with some welcoming the idea and others expressing skepticism.
