This archive report was first published on 18 July 2019.

At just 21 years old, Kamene Goro burst onto the Kenyan media scene as a news anchor and reporter on Ebru TV in 2009. She was still a third-year Law student at the time.

However, her tenure at the station was short-lived, as she left in September 2015 following a bitter fallout with the station's management over her wages.

According to reports, Kamene's departure from Ebru TV was also due to her plans to move to Arusha to start a new life with her then-fiancé, following a pre-wedding ceremony in Genoa, Italy. Unfortunately, the couple did not tie the knot as Kamene broke off the engagement.

Fast forward to 2017, Kamene made a surprise return to Ebru TV as the Head of News, but her stint was short-lived as she left the station just a few months later, citing difficulties in working there.

During her time as Head of News, Kamene took on a multitude of responsibilities, including producing, editing, and reading the news.

However, it was in 2018 that Kamene truly cemented her status as a controversy magnet. She made headlines after publicly declaring that she had slept with 27 men by the age of 26, and later sparked outrage by sharing risqué photos of herself.

Her provocative nature continued as she landed a job with NRG radio, where she was paired with vlogger Andrew Kibe. The duo's content was centered around controversy, with one notable incident involving Kamene kissing Kenyan rapper Prezzo on camera.

Her feud with socialite Huddah Monroe also made headlines, with Kamene publicly accusing Huddah of being a high-end prostitute. This was not the first time Kamene had made such claims, and it sparked a heated debate on social media.

Today, Kamene Goro is a far cry from the soft-spoken news anchor she once was. She attributes her bold and outspoken nature to her growth as a person, and is set to join Radio Africa's Kiss 100, despite a court order obtained by her former employer, NRG radio.
