Microsoft's African Development Centre (ADC) has welcomed a new leader, with Catherine Muraga taking over as Managing Director on June 1, 2022. The ADC, Microsoft's premier engineering hub in Nairobi, has grown significantly since its inception in 2019, with over 450 full-time employees working in various areas.

Catherine brings over 15 years of experience in the IT industry, having worked in various sectors, including manufacturing, aviation, and banking. Prior to joining Microsoft, she led the Engineering team at Stanbic Bank Kenya and South Sudan and was a member of the bank's Executive Leadership team.

"I am excited to be joining the ADC at this particular time and look forward to continuing the tremendous work that has already begun," Catherine said in a statement.

The ADC relocated to its new ultra-modern facility at Dunhill Towers along Waiyaki Way in March, marking a significant milestone in its growth. The new facility will house the engineering, design, research, and innovation teams, as well as the Microsoft Garage, an incubation hub established to scale tech innovation in the continent.
