On the night of May 31 and June 1, 2022, unknown thugs broke into the residence of St Mark Catholic Parish in Litein, Kericho county, and stole an unspecified amount of money.

According to Fr Moses Langat, the Parish Priest, the thieves shattered a window pane to gain entry while he and other priests were fast asleep in an adjacent room.

The break-in was not limited to the residence; the thieves also gained entry into the church and vandalized the tabernacle, a liturgical furnishing used to house the Eucharist.

Crime Scene detectives have since visited both scenes and processed them forensically to bring the suspects of the crime to book.
