On June 25th, a tragic incident occurred on Valley Road in Nairobi when a 28-year-old Kenyan woman, Florence Wanjiku, was pushed out of a moving matatu by its crew.
Wanjiku, who was traveling home from Hurlinghum, was rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
Two suspects, Joseph Muasya and John Ndwai, who operated the matatu belonging to Kileton SACCO, were arraigned before High Court judge Jessie Lessit on Wednesday.
However, they did not take plea as the court directed them to undergo a mental examination before being charged with murder.
The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) had previously revoked the licenses of the two, with Director-General Francis Meja vowing that they would never be allowed to operate public service vehicles in the country.
The two will be charged on July 25th.
