On June 1, 2022, President Uhuru Kenyatta reflected on his government's accomplishments during the Madaraka Day Celebrations at Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi, Kenya.

President Kenyatta emphasized that his administration has set a higher bar and built more roads than the previous three regimes, including the colonial government, with over 11,000 kilometers of tarmac roads constructed.

He stated, 'When My Administration took over the helm of leadership, we knew we had only a maximum of two terms to accomplish a very ambitious agenda. And the challenge was that the bar set by my predecessor, the late President Kibaki, was high. To face this challenge, we had to first embrace what previous administrations had done and accelerate their achievements. This was part of the big push.'

President Kenyatta also highlighted the acceleration of digitization, citing the introduction of Huduma Centres and the online platform eCitizen, which he said makes access to public services fast and pleasant.

He further pointed out that his administration has implemented reforms in the Land Registry, making it easier to identify and reverse fake title deeds.

President Kenyatta defended the loans taken by his administration, stating that they have helped accelerate development in the country and that debt is a catalyst for rapid development in the hands of a visionary administration.

He also referenced the economic growth of South Korea, which he said has been a model for Kenya's development, and emphasized that Kenya has moved from being the 12th largest economy in Africa to the 6th largest in just 9 years.
