The Kenya Secondary Education Quality Improvement Project (SEQIP) is a six-year intervention aimed at enhancing retention in upper primary and transition from primary to secondary education in targeted areas.

The project, which is nationally funded by the World Bank, will benefit 38 schools in Loitoktok Sub County, including 12 secondary and 26 primary public schools.

According to Loitoktok Sub County Director of Education Peter Bitah, the project will construct 10 laboratories and 16 classrooms in the 12 secondary schools, while 26 toilets will be constructed in the 26 primary schools.

Bitah noted that the project seeks to address the challenges of education wastage in grades 7 and 8 and low enrolment of girls in vulnerable and marginalized areas.

"The project will enable the country to address the challenges of education wastage in grades 7 and 8 and low enrolment of girls in the vulnerable and marginalized areas," Bitah said.
