Tragedy struck on May 31st when Stella Memusi, the wife of Kajiado Central MP Elijah Memusi, lost her life in a road accident.
According to reports, Stella's driver rammed a truck that had been abandoned in the middle of the road, resulting in her untimely death.
The accident occurred near Isinya Township on the Nairobi-Namanga highway, a busy route that connects Nairobi to Namanga.
MP Elijah Memusi has been receiving overwhelming support from colleagues, family, friends, and supporters following the tragic incident.
Speaking to the press, Kajiado Police Commander Muthuri Mwongera emphasized the importance of road safety, stating, "It is unfortunate that life was lost in the accident that occurred at 23:10am. It is sad. I want to urge all road users to take personal responsibility for protecting themselves and others."
He also highlighted the need for drivers to take necessary precautions when their vehicles stall on the road, adding, "If a vehicle stalls on the road it is prudent and mandatory for you to put road signs that alert other motorists of danger ahead. It is uncouth and inhumane to just leave a vehicle along the road and endanger other road users, especially at night when visibility is not clear."
