Kenya is emerging as a crucial battleground for global streaming giants, including Netflix, as they seek to tap into the growing demand for online content in Africa.

According to analysts, the African digital platform customer base is expected to surge by 233% to 13 million by 2025, driven by the increasing adoption of streaming services.

Netflix has been at the forefront of this trend, investing millions of shillings in the Kenyan market in recent months to identify fresh local talent and projects to add to its library of original local content.

As part of its efforts to expand its presence in the region, Netflix has signed a two-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Kenya's ICT Ministry to fund training opportunities for new filmmakers, buy local content from Kenyan producers, and promote marketing and consumer safety for digital content creators and viewers.
