On 31st May 2022, Amani National Congress party leader Musalia Mudavadi urged the people of Bomet to rally behind their region leader Deputy President William Ruto and support his bid to the presidency.

Mudavadi spoke at the Kenya Kwanza alliance's Bomet County Bottom Up economic Forum at Fairhill Hotel, where he emphasized the importance of Bomet leading by example during the elections in August.

He warned that a run-off election would be costly for the country, and urged Bomet residents to ensure that DP Ruto wins in the first round.

The forum provided a platform for Bomet residents to highlight the issues affecting them and which Kenya Kwanza should prioritize if elected.

Mudavadi also vowed to address the high cost of living, which he said had made a majority of Kenyans beggars, and accused the current regime of neglecting the common mwananchi.

Bomet Governor Prof. Hillary Barchok praised the Kenya Kwanza team for their initiative, saying involving residents in governance was a major achievement.

He promised to partner with the team to actualize some of the projects and initiatives suggested by the residents to improve their livelihood.

Other speakers, including Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wa, echoed Barchok's sentiments, vowing to traverse the country to popularize DP Ruto's presidential bid.
