Murang'a Policeman's Wife Arrested for Allegedly Stupefying Him ¶
On the night of Sunday, May 29, 2022, a senior policeman in Murang'a County took his wife out for drinks at Small Villa Gardens on the Kenol-Murang'a road.
According to police reports, the man, who is employed by the Interior Ministry, had several drinks and became weak, prompting him to ask his wife to drive him to hospital.
However, unbeknownst to him, his wife had been locked up in a police cell pending her arraignment in court, facing charges of allegedly trying to stupefy and steal from him.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) published the incident on social media, describing the wife as the 'daughter of Jezebel' and claiming that she had hatched an evil scheme to milk her husband's bank accounts dry.
But the man's world was turned upside down when he was shown the DCI's report about the incident, which left him petrified.
After he was discharged from hospital on Monday morning, he went straight to Kenol police station, where he identified his wife of 18 years, who was in a police cell.
The police released her and apologised, but the man strongly condemned the DCI for what he called a 'very alarmist statement that at best was fake.'
He also demanded that the DCI Director, George Kinoti, order the immediate restructuring of its popular social media platforms, dismissing them as a 'theatre of useless drama, defamation and source of fake news.'
The man also wants the DCI to apologise to his wife for branding her a 'Basmati babe' and referring to her as the daughter of Jezebel.
