NITA crafts skill upgrading program targets textile and apparel clusters

On May 31, 2022, the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) announced the launch of a skill upgrading program aimed at enhancing the capabilities of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the textile and apparel industry.

The program, which is set to be rolled out in all 47 counties, aims to equip SMEs with the necessary skills to compete in the global market. The training will focus on improving the quality and efficiency of textile and apparel production, as well as enhancing the skills of entrepreneurs and workers in the industry.

According to NITA, the training will be conducted in collaboration with various stakeholders, including industry experts, training institutions, and government agencies. The program is expected to benefit thousands of SMEs and workers in the textile and apparel industry, contributing to the growth and development of the sector.
