On Wednesday, Siaya Member of County Assembly (MCA) John Mboha was blocked from accessing the County Assembly offices in Siaya.
According to reports, Mboha had acquired an interim conservatory court order on July 17, 2019, which barred the county assembly from suspending him over alleged gross misconduct.
However, the court order was deemed inadmissible by the security guards and officers from the assembly's sergeant at arms department, who claimed they were following instructions from Speaker George Okode.
Speaker Okode denied issuing instructions to block Mboha, stating that the MCA would still not be allowed to access the assembly until they receive a court order regarding his reinstatement.
Speaking to journalists, Mboha demanded to know the period for which he was supposed to serve for his suspension.
