On July 17, 2019, Migori detectives made a significant arrest in a case of police impersonation.
Anthony Okemwa and Godfrey Odhiambo, two men who had been posing as police officers, were apprehended at a hospital in Migori where they allegedly planned to arrest a nurse.
According to the police, the two men had approached the nurse and identified themselves as police officers, producing fake identification cards to support their claim.
However, the nurse refused to cooperate and instead reported the incident to the police, leading to the arrest of the two men.
Migori County Police Commander Joseph Nthenge commended the public for their vigilance and cooperation in bringing the suspects to justice.
He stated that the arrest of the two men was a significant blow to the efforts of individuals who seek to undermine the authority of the police.
