Kenya Power and Lighting Company PLC has made a key appointment, with Eng. Geoffrey Wasua Muli taking over as the Acting Managing Director on May 17, 2022. He replaces Eng. Rosemary Oduor, who is currently on a well-deserved annual leave.
Eng. Muli, a seasoned professional, holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He is also pursuing a PhD in Business Administration and is a Registered Professional Engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).
Before his appointment, Muli served as the acting General Manager in charge of the company's Regional Coordination. His appointment comes after a recruitment process led by consultancy firm Deloitte, which was initiated following the abrupt resignation of Bernard Ngugi in August 2021.
Ngugi had been at the helm of Kenya Power for just two years before his departure. The company had expected to receive applications for the Managing Director position by the end of February, as part of its efforts to find a suitable replacement.
