Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka's presidential bid is reportedly in jeopardy as Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya coalition party offers him a top position in their government.
According to Narok Senator Ledama Olekina, Kalonzo will drop his presidential bid and rejoin Azimio sooner than later.
On May 17th, 2022, Olekina tweeted that the proposed Chief Cabinet Secretary position for Kalonzo was too good to let go.
“Kalonzo will be back to Azimio sooner than later… The proposed Chief Cabinet Secretary position for him is too good to let go… mark this tweet,” Olekina stated.
On May 16th, 2022, Azimio presidential aspirant Raila Odinga announced that the third most powerful post in his government – the Chief Cabinet Secretary position – was reserved for Kalonzo Musyoka.
Under the Azimio government, the Chief Cabinet Secretary will be expected to coordinate and supervise all government functions, a mandate similar to that of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i.
