Court Frees 11 Suspects Accused of Shooting Porn in Nyali

Published on July 17, 2019, a group of 11 suspects, including 10 women and 1 man, were arraigned in court in Nyali, Mombasa County, accused of shooting pornographic videos.

The suspects, who were arrested by the police, denied the charges before Shanzu Law Courts Principal Magistrate Florence Maina.

Of the 11 suspects, 9 women were released on a bond of KES 50,000 and surety of a similar amount or a cash bail of KES 20,000.

The remaining 2 suspects, Merceline Atieno Onyango and Enock Elisha Ochieng, who were accused of running the online porn business, were freed on a bond of KES 100,000 and surety of a similar amount or a cash bail of KES 50,000.

The duo was also charged with earning a living through proceeds of prostitution.

According to the police, the suspects operated on an online webcam platform called 'Chat Bate' in conjunction with an international media company called Multi Media LLC.

The case will be mentioned on July 30 and hearing on November 25, 2019.
