On July 16, 2019, Janet Nakawungu, a 91-year-old grandmother from Uganda, appeared in court to accuse her nephew and niece of announcing her death prematurely.

According to Daily Monitor, Nakawungu had discovered that her land deed had gone missing while she was trying to sell a portion of her six-acre land to raise money for her hospital bills.

She alleged that her nephew and niece had forged her death and used the opportunity to steal her land.

"They announced that I had died and changed the ownership of my six-acre land, what about the person who has lived with me all these years and done such evil deeds?" Nakawungu asked the court.

Her nephew and niece are currently being held by police on charges of spreading false information and attempting to steal her land.
