On July 16, 2019, Java House announced a significant expansion of its regional presence, with a focus on catering to health-conscious customers.
The restaurant chain, led by CEO Paul Smith, revealed plans to introduce exclusive vegetarian branches as part of its Sh1 billion expansion.
Java House has partnered with oil marketer Total Kenya to unveil its latest branch along Mbagathi Way, which will serve both business and residents.
The new branch, located close to Strathmore University, is set to open by the end of July and marks the second collaboration between Total Kenya and Java, following the unveiling of the Airport View, Mombasa Road, outlet.
According to Mr. Smith, the Mbagathi Road location is strategically positioned to serve a growing number of middle-income residents in Madaraka, Nairobi West, and Langata.
Java House aims to capitalize on the underserved market in the area, which currently has limited food and beverage options around the T-mall round-about.
The partnership with Total Kenya is part of Java House's strategy to grow its presence in the region, with plans to expand to Uganda in the near future.
Locally, Java House plans to increase the number of its Express outlets, which will serve vegetarian meals, over the next six months.
The chain restaurant has already opened its first Express outlet at the United States International University-Africa main campus off Thika Road in November 2017.
