On July 11, 2019, a domestic dispute turned violent in Nambale, Busia County, leaving a 39-year-old woman with serious injuries.
Jackline Kerubo, a mother of six, was attacked by her husband, Pascal Omusolo, after she gave a neighbor vegetables from their farm, despite being warned not to do so.
According to Kerubo, the family wrangles started last Thursday, and her husband seriously beat her before a neighbor intervened, but swore to teach her a lesson.
She sought treatment at Nambale Sub-county hospital, where she received medical attention for her injuries.
Speaking to journalists at Nambale Police Station, Kerubo recounted the horrific incident, stating that her husband pounced on her while in the kitchen, hitting her on the head before biting off her lower lip and ear.
Her 8-year-old child rescued her by hitting the suspect on the head, allowing her to escape the attack.
Area Chief Maryline Oundoh called on couples to seek counseling from relevant authorities when facing challenges in their marriages.
A hunt for the suspect is ongoing.
