On Saturday, President Uhuru Kenyatta attended the traditional wedding of Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru and city lawyer Kamotho Waiganjo.
President Kenyatta and Governor Waiguru have a long history of working together, having previously served in the Treasury during the grand coalition government and later in the cabinet during his first term in office.
During the wedding, President Kenyatta praised Governor Waiguru, saying, "Kamotho I can guarantee you that you have married a wonderful girl. A hardworking, committed woman. I have worked with her before and she is committed to everything she has done,"
He also encouraged Mr. Waiganjo to show the same commitment to his new bride, saying, "Show that very same commitment bwana Kamotho to your new bride. And with that I'm sure you will live a happy, prosperous and with God's grace very, very long life,"
However, social media users couldn't resist making fun of the President's guarantee, with many taking to social media to poke fun at the situation.
