On Monday, Esther Arunga pleaded guilty to being an accessory to manslaughter in a court appearance, revealing that she had been protecting her husband Quincy Timberlake.

Arunga's confession comes after she initially claimed that their son did not die at the hands of her husband. However, Timberlake's mother Rosemeg Wambita has denied the allegations, stating that Arunga's confession is a lie.

Appearing in an interview with Nation, Wambita expressed her disbelief, saying, "That is a lie [Esther Arunga's confession]. I don’t understand what she means since she is the one who said that their son did not die at the hands of her husband. Where was she all this time? This is peculiar to me. It is a lie. I don’t understand it," she said.

Wambita further added that she does not believe her son could commit such a heinous act, citing his Christian background as evidence of his good character.

She questioned Arunga's decision to live with a killer, asking, "When it comes to death, people can change. In this case, I say no. If my son is a murderer, why did she accept to live with a killer?"
