On April 28, 2022, American tech giant Google announced the appointment of Microsoft Africa Development Centre managing director Jack Ngare as technical director in its cloud business, Office of the Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
Ngare, who was previously the head of Microsoft's tech innovation and development center in Nairobi, will join Google Cloud's Office of the CTO, a global team of senior technology experts and former enterprise CTOs.
According to Google Cloud's chief technology officer, Will Grannis, the Office of the CTO helps customers create their future with technology and guides Google on the challenges the world's enterprises are trying to solve.
Ngare expressed his honour at joining the growing team, stating, "As Google Cloud builds its presence in Africa, I am honoured to join this growing team to better support local businesses." He added that with the growth of digitization, it is more important than ever to help companies use technology to modernise, scale, and reach their customers' needs.
