As the government cracks down on online gambling sites, Enock Koskei commends the move, stating that the damage caused by gambling cannot be compared to taxes or sports sponsorship. He calculates that Kenyans lost Sh23 million a day, citing the Sh204 billion annual revenue generated by the industry.

However, Joseph Macharia disagrees, arguing that the crackdown is unjustified and that betting firms have been legally registered and meet their tax obligations. He also suggests that some top political figures may be behind the crackdown to edge out their rivals.

The Chairperson of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission is facing criticism from some MPs, who are demanding that the commission bend the law to accommodate their demands.
