Algeria's chances of winning the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations title have been boosted by the confidence of their star player, Riyad Mahrez.
On July 19, 2019, Algeria will face Senegal in the final match of the tournament, and Mahrez is optimistic about his team's chances of emerging victorious.
Speaking after their semifinal win over Nigeria on July 14, 2019, Mahrez said, "We already had confidence I think, but this game has given us more confidence to play the final."
He added, "It will be another tough game, but I think we are capable of winning it. We have played Senegal in the group stage, they are a group team, but we will see."
Algeria's journey to the final has been impressive, with wins over Kenya, Senegal, Tanzania, Guinea, and Ivory Coast.
They will now be aiming to win their second AFCON title after winning their first in 1990.
