April 20, 2022, Nairobi — The Jubilee Party's decision to impose Polycarp Igathe as the Nairobi Governor candidate has been met with opposition from clergy members allied to Ann Kagure.
The members, drawn from the Pentecostal movement led by Apostle Paul Oracle, have called for a transparent and fair process that will give all candidates an equal opportunity to compete for the seat.
They argue that imposing a candidate denies Kenyans the right to choose their preferred candidate and also denies an able woman leader an opportunity to vie.
Apostle Prudence Jackie condemned the shambolic process by the Jubilee party, stating that it's unfair for other able candidates to be overlooked.
