On April 20, 2022, the Jubilee Party issued nomination certificates to party aspirants in Taita Taveta and Kirinyaga counties.
Party aspirants in Taita Taveta County, led by Governor Granton Samboja and Taveta MP Naomi Shaban, received their certificates from National Elections Board Chairperson Stephen Wandeto.
Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni and Director of Elections Kanini Kega congratulated the nominees and praised all Jubilee aspirants in the county for embracing consensus in picking candidates.
However, the party did not issue certificates to aspirants seeking the governor position in Kirinyaga County.
According to Jubilee national chairman Nelson Nzuia, the party issued certificates to deserving aspirants and will continue to support the candidates.
Interior PS Karanja Kibicho, who sat in the selection panel, said the party has settled on candidates who are likely to win in August.
He added that the party's main objective is to get the best leadership in Kirinyaga and other parts of Mt Kenya.
