This archive report was first published on 15 July 2019.

On July 15, 2019, Esther Arunga, a former KTN news anchor, was back in the news, this time heading to court over the murder of her son Sinclair.

According to an autopsy report, Sinclair's death was caused by a severe blunt force, such as punching or stamping, which was inconsistent with a fall.

Esther Arunga initially lied to the police to protect her husband, Quincy Timberlake, but later changed her statement after he was involuntarily admitted to a mental health facility.

Esther Arunga's fear of being alone and her husband's illness were cited as reasons for her initial silence.

She told the police, 'I was terrified of being alone and I felt terrible because my husband was sick as well.'
