On July 14, 2019, Kenyan police made a significant arrest in the fight against illegal immigration. A Star Bus traveling from Nairobi to Moyale was intercepted in Moyale and Isiolo, resulting in the detention of 20 suspected illegal immigrants.

Among the arrested were seven Congolese, nine Ethiopians, and four Eritreans. Notably, five of the Congolese were juveniles, and further investigation revealed that they were from a refugee camp in Uganda.

Separately, in Marsabit North, four Eritreans aged between 20 and 25 were arrested at Turbi Trading Centre for being in the country illegally.
