As the country struggles to keep up with modern technology, one Kenyan telecommunication firm has taken a significant leap forward. On April 8, 2022, Telkom Kenya launched an online sim card self-registration option, providing customers with a convenient and time-saving way to update their registration details.

Unlike other providers, Telkom's online registration process is quick and easy. By dialing 100# and selecting the Self Sim Registration Update option, customers can access a link via text message that takes them to a secure page where they can enter their details and upload required documents.

According to a government directive, failure to register sim cards can result in a fine of Sh. 300,000. However, with Telkom's online registration option, customers can avoid this penalty and save time queuing in the sun.

As the country prepares for the upcoming general elections, it is heartening to see a telecommunication firm like Telkom taking the lead in embracing technology and providing its customers with a better experience.
