On a thrilling day at the Silverstone motor racing circuit in central England, Lewis Hamilton made history by claiming his sixth British Grand Prix victory on July 14, 2019.
Hamilton's win, which came after a favourable safety car intervention, marked his seventh victory in 10 races that year and the 80th win of his career.
He moved 39 points clear of his Mercedes team-mate and nearest title rival, Valtteri Bottas, behind in the title race.
Charles Leclerc of Ferrari took third place, while Pierre Gasly finished fourth ahead of Max Verstappen, whose race was compromised by a late collision with Sebastian Vettel of Ferrari.
Hamilton's victory was met with jubilation from the crowd, with the Briton expressing his gratitude to the fans and his team.

He also praised his team, saying, "I couldn't have done this without these guys or without my team."
