Manchester United's pursuit of Harry Maguire has been a long and arduous one, with the club's interest in the Leicester City star dating back to last summer.

According to reports, Jose Mourinho was desperate to sign Maguire for Manchester United last summer, but the deal ultimately fell through.

However, it now seems that Maguire is close to sealing a move to Old Trafford, with Leicester City reportedly ready to cash in on the centre-back.

A world-record £80m deal has been agreed between the two clubs, with Maguire set to undergo medicals on July 15.

This will be Manchester United's third summer signing, following the arrivals of Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Maguire's move to Manchester United will see him become the most expensive defender in history, surpassing the £75million Liverpool paid for Virgil van Dijk last summer.
