Kenyan defender Yusuf Mainge has made a significant move in his career, joining Slovakian team FK Pohronie on a season-long loan deal.
Mainge, who has been playing for AFC Leopards in Kenya, was omitted from the squad for the 2019/20 season, paving the way for his move abroad.
Before his loan move, Mainge was reportedly on the radar of Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia and big spenders Wazito FC, but FK Pohronie has snapped him up.
Mainge's international career has been on the rise, having played for the Harambee Stars U20 side and the Kenya U23 team that competed in the 2020 Olympic qualifiers.
According to an update shared on AFC Leopards' Twitter account on July 14, 2019, Mainge is set to join FK Pohronie, with the club wishing him all the best in his new adventure.
Mainge joined AFC Leopards at the start of the 2018 season, straight from Kakamega High School, but failed to secure a starting role at the club.
