Manchester United has been handed a significant boost after coach Mark Dempsey's condition reportedly stabilized following a hospital scare in Perth, Australia.
According to a report by Channel 9 News, Dempsey was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital on July 12, 2019, after collapsing at the Crown Towers hotel, where the Manchester United squad was staying for their pre-season tour.
Dempsey's wife, Susan, revealed to SunSport that her husband collapsed due to dehydration and lack of sleep following the intensity of training and time difference.
"So everything is fine. I've just spoken to him now," she said.
"He's still in hospital. They're keeping him in for observation. He's on a drip because he's dehydrated," she added.
Mark Dempsey, a 55-year-old trusted member of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's backroom team, rejoined Manchester United in December 2018 as first-team coach after Solskjaer succeeded Jose Mourinho in the United hotseat.
During his playing days, Dempsey turned out for several clubs, including Swindon, Sheffield United, Chesterfield, Rotherham, Macclesfield, and Manchester United, where he made one league appearance between 1982 and 1986.
