On Saturday, July 13, 2019, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru and city lawyer Kamotho Waiganjo tied the knot in a colourful Gikuyu traditional wedding, known as ngurario, at Kiamugumo Primary School.
The ceremony was attended by top leaders in the country, including President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition chief Raila Odinga, who could not resist dancing to the tune of traditional music.
Other notable guests at the function included Sports CS Amina Mohamed, Transport CS James Macharia, Interior PS Karanja Kibicho, and senators James Orengo (Siaya) and his Narok counterpart Ladema Ole Kina.
So scintillating was the function that it was characterised by pomp and colour, with majority of guests clad in traditional Gikuyu attire.
