On a mission to bring hope to the needy, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, the global spiritual leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community, has arrived in Mombasa, Kenya. The visit, which began on July 13, 2019, is expected to last for a week.
According to Sheikh Zoeb Ezzi, the Secretary of the Mombasa Bohra community, the spiritual leader's visit is a goodwill mission aimed at urging his congregants to support charity and fight hunger. 'His Holiness will donate foodstuff during his stay in the country. He will also conduct mass weddings and bless the congregants and the country,' Sheikh Ezzi said.
During his visit, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin is expected to address over 6,000 faithful during a sermon and conduct mass weddings at the Old Town Bohra mosque in Mombasa. He will also pray for the peace and well-being of all Kenyans.
The Dawoodi Bohra community has invested heavily in health and education sectors, as well as philanthropic activities across the country. The community operates a hospital, Saifee Foundation, which offers free medical camps and subsidises treatment regularly.
As part of his mission, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin plans to build and donate a primary school for the locals with a capacity of 500 pupils. The building plans and resources are ready, and only waiting for the location of the school to be confirmed for the construction work to start.
