Kenya's Harambee Stars players who took part in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) are still awaiting payment of their winning bonuses, totaling KSh 10 million.

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) had promised to pay each of the 27 players and 13 members of the technical bench KSh 250,000 for every win at the tournament, which concluded on July 19 in Cairo, Egypt.

FKF boss Nick Mwendwa explained that the payment delay was due to the ongoing process, but assured that the Sports CS, Amina Mohammed, was aware of the situation and the money would be paid once the process was completed.

Kenya's campaign in the tournament started with a 2-0 defeat to Algeria, but they managed to pick up in the second match, coming from a goal down to defeat their East African neighbors, Taifa Stars 3-2.

However, their campaign was cut short after losing to Sadio Mane's inspired Senegal in the last match of the group stages.
