On Saturday, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru will make her union with lawyer boyfriend Kamotho Waiganjo official in a traditional Kikuyu wedding called 'ngurario'.
The ceremony will take place at Kiamugumo Primary School in Ngariama Ward, Gichugu Sub County.
High-profile guests have been invited to witness the union of the two, who have been lovers for about 10 years.
Among the guests in attendance are President Uhuru Kenyatta, Raila Odinga, James Orengo, CS Amina Mohamed, CS Michael Kamau, Interior PS Karanja Kibicho, Rachel Shebesh, Sabina Chege, and Senator Ledama Ole Kina.
The wedding comes just a few months after the couple held a lavish engagement party at the Lord Erroll Hotel in Nairobi, which also served as a dowry paying ceremony.
This marks the end of years-long speculations on Governor Waiguru's love life, which remained private despite her high-flying career.
