On July 12, 2019, U.S. Attorney William McSwain announced charges against 60-year-old Gregory Dow of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, for allegedly sexually molesting four teenage girls at the Dow Family Children's Home in Boito, Bomet County, Kenya.

The orphanage was founded with the help of a church, and Dow fled Kenya in September 2017 after being accused of sexual abuse.

According to McSwain, an investigation was launched after a tipster contacted the Lancaster County prosecutors' office in 2018, leading to the new charges that Dow violated a U.S. law against sexual contact with minors in foreign countries.

When questioned by the LNP newspaper earlier this year, Dow denied any wrongdoing, stating that he had not done anything wrong.

Gregory Dow is expected to appear in federal court in Philadelphia on July 19, 2019.
