Published on July 13, 2019, Algeria's hopes of reaching the Africa Cup of Nations final will be boosted by the arrival of another 2,000 fans in Cairo for the semi-final against Nigeria.

According to a statement from the Algerian Ministry of Defence, the army high command, in conjunction with Prime Minister Noureddine Bedoui, decided to add six military planes to transport 600 Algerian supporters to cheer on and motivate the national team.

Additionally, Air Algeria will transport 1,400 supporters on 10 planes, bringing the total number of fans to 2,000.

The supporters are scheduled to leave Cairo after the match, but if Algeria wins, they may stay on for the final against either Senegal or Tunisia.

Algeria's national team has not won the tournament in 29 years, and the arrival of these fans is expected to give them a significant boost in morale.
