On Sunday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his readiness to engage in negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, stating that without talks, the situation would escalate to a third World War.
Speaking to CNN's Fareed Zakaria, Zelensky emphasized the importance of negotiations, saying, "I think that we have to use any format, any chance in order to have a possibility of negotiating, possibility of talking to Putin. But if these attempts fail, that would mean that this is a third World War."
Ukraine's priorities, according to Zelensky, include the end of the war, security guarantees, sovereignty, restoration of territorial integrity, and real guarantees for the country's protection.
On Saturday, Zelensky called for talks "without delay," warning that Russia would suffer "huge" losses if they don't come to the table. He also emphasized that Ukraine has always insisted on negotiations and has offered dialogue and solutions for peace.
Ukraine's priorities are: "The end of the war, security guarantees, sovereignty, restoration of territorial integrity, real guarantees for our country, real protection for our country."
As reported by Turkey, Moscow and Kiev are close to an agreement on key points, despite the Kremlin turning to "more destructive artillery" after using hypersonic "Kinzhal" missiles at least twice on Ukrainian targets.
