On July 13, 2019, socialite Vera Sidika and musician Willy Paul pulled off publicity stunts to hype the release of their new songs 'Mimi' and 'Sado Mado' respectively.

First, Vera Sidika sparked a buzz on social media by sharing a picture of herself looking darker than usual on Instagram, leading many to believe she had turned black again.

However, it was all a prank as Vera released her second song 'Mimi' with a caption that included an extract from the video of the song.

The stunt seemed to have worked, with the video gathering over 128,000 views in less than 24 hours.

Willy Paul also got trending on social media when he lamented that Alaine had blocked him on her social handles and was no longer picking his calls.

He claimed the reason was because she assumed he was having an affair with Tanzanian songbird Nandy.

However, Alaine kept the conversation going with a response that she could only be musical friends with Willy Paul.

On Friday, Willy Paul released his new track 'Sado Mado' featuring Alaine, which has so far amassed over 90,000 views.
