On July 5, 2019, Mercado Mexican Kitchen and Bar in Kenya was named the winner of three prestigious awards at the 2019 World Luxury Spa and Restaurants awards, held in St Petersburg, Russia.
The restaurant took home the titles of Best Mexican Cuisine (Continent Winner: Africa), Best Cocktail Menu (Continent Winner: Africa), and Luxury Interior Design (Regional Winner – East Africa).
According to World Luxury Awards Group Marketing Director Michael Hunter-Smith, the awards recognize establishments for service excellence, and it is the hard work and dedication of the staff that make such achievements possible.
“It takes highly efficient and dedicated staff, who are willing to go the extra mile and stop at nothing to ensure that every guest feels cared for and no challenge goes unresolved,” said Hunter-Smith.
For Mercado Mexican Kitchen and Bar Director Jigar Patel, the awards are a testament to the restaurant's commitment to excellence. “We are delighted to have received these awards,” he said in a statement.
