Published on July 12, 2019, HBO's 'Euphoria' has been a roaring success, attracting over 5.5 million viewers across broadcast and streaming channels. The A24-produced series, aimed at a younger audience, has been a ratings smash, and HBO has just announced that it has renewed 'Euphoria' for a second season, before the current season has even finished airing.

'Euphoria' creator Sam Levinson has built an incredible world with an extraordinary cast led by the supremely talented Zendaya, said HBO's Head of Drama, Francesca Orsi. 'We are so grateful that he chose HBO as the home for this groundbreaking series.'

The Cast

Zendaya is expected to return as teen protagonist Rue, and the rest of the regular cast, including Maude Apatow (Lexi), Hunter Schafer (Jules), Jacob Elordi (Nate), Angus Cloud (Fezco), Alexa Demie (Maddy), Barbie Ferreira (Kat), Storm Reid (Gia), Algee Smith (Chris), Sydney Sweeney (Cassie), and Eric Dane (Cal), will also be back.

The Plot

Season one followed Rue as she left rehab, struggled to find purpose in life, and became increasingly entangled with Jules. Season two is likely to follow the same extreme highs and lows that come with being a teenager—a teenager that does lots and lots of drugs.

The Release Date

Shooting has yet to commence on season two, so there's no sneak peek just yet. No release date is set as yet, although we can probably expect a similar summer slot as this season—so keep an eye out for new episodes next June.
